The secondary section of the school is situated 100–200m away from the primary section. The principal of the school is Mr. Nawshad, and the vice principal is Mr. Jiffery. There are about 120 teachers and 2000 students in the secondary section. It includes grades 6–13. Like in the primary section, here too, all the buildings are surrounded by lovely flowers and trees. There are about 10 buildings and main facilities such as a library, an IT lab, a science lab, a basketball court, a large and mini auditorium, a smart classroom, and proper electricity and water supplies. Studies are held in Tamil and also in English. A grade is divided into 7 classes as A,B,C,E1,E2, X, and Y such that each class includes about 40 students. Students are allowed to join one or more clubs in order to improve their life skills. Sports meets and cultural day programmes are held every 2 years in order to encourage students to participate in sports and literacy-related activities. Students also show high performance in OLs and ALs, and Zahira is ranked as one of the most popular schools in Sri Lanka with its great achievements.

We carry out academic activities in our school up to Year 13 ensuring continuous education from Year 13 onwards.
